Pearl Types

South Sea Pearls

In terms of shape, round pearls are often coveted for their symmetry, but South Sea pearls also come in different shapes like drop, oval, or baroque. These other shapes bear a distinct charm that makes them valuable in their own way.

Large, perfectly round, and flawless golden South Sea pearls are exceptionally rare, and are regarded as one of the most valuable pearls in the world.

Jewelmer’s pearls are produced by the Pinctada maxima — the gold-lipped oyster — raised sustainably in our own farms in Palawan, Philippines. Only the top 2% in quality of every harvest are set into Jewelmer’s creations.

As the South Sea pearl comes in different varieties, these pearls can stand as an eye-catching statement piece, or an elegant everyday accessory to elevate any outfit.

Tahitian Pearls

Produced exclusively in French Polynesia, Tahitian pearls are known for their natural dark hues. They are often described as black pearls, but they can also come in other intense shades like peacock, green, or blue. Like the South Sea pearl, these pearls also come in different shapes, each sought for their unique character.

With their deep colors, Tahitian pearls bring an exquisite touch to any wardrobe.

Freshwater Pearls

Freshwater pearls are produced in high quantities by mussels in lakes or rivers. They are known for their soft luster and pastel colors, and come in the range of 4 to 14 mm in size.
