‘Tinikling’ and Tears of Joy: Miss Universe 2024 Victoria Kjær Theilvig Visits Palawan

The queen of the universe, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, made her first visit to the Philippines
with a tropical getaway, touching down on Palawan’s sandy shores. She spent her first day exploring Jewelmer’s pearl farm, taking a tour of the farm’s operations and discovering the intricate processes behind the South Sea pearl’s cultivation.

It was the first time that Theilvig was able to meet the pearl farmers behind the Lumière de l'Infini Crown, the one-of-a-kind creation emblematic of her historic win for the Miss
Universe 2024 title. She expressed her admiration for them: “This is such a unique and
special experience for me. I’m deeply honored to meet the people behind the creation of the Jewelmer crown. I can truly feel their warmth and energy reflected in every golden South Sea pearl, especially here, the home of the Philippines’ national gem.”

The appreciation was mutual — Jewelmer’s pearl farmers told Theilvig that it was
especially moving to see the Lumière de l'Infini Crown on an international stage, and that all their hard work paid off once they saw her crowned in it.

The reigning queen also embraced traditional Philippine customs. She enjoyed a kamayan feast and cultural performances by Jewelmer’s pearl farmers, where she took part in dances such as the tinikling.

Jewelmer CEO Jacques Christophe Branellec later made a speech, relaying his admiration for Theilvig’s ability to inspire others as Miss Universe 2024.

In a touching gesture, she was overcome with emotion when she concluded her Palawan visit. Tearing up, she conveyed her newfound appreciation of the Lumière de l'Infini Crown and its deeper meaning to her: “Whenever I think about the crown from now on, I will remember all the love poured into making it and the welcoming energy of the people behind it.”
